refugees{code} offers refugees a program, aiming to develop their coding and software development skills. The goal of this program is to create perspectives for self-determination through hard work and skill development, and as a result a sustainable long-term integration and an eventual lead to potential job placements should be achieved. In order to achieve a job placement for all participants, refugees{code} offers additional personal development workshops as well as trainings and internships. refugees{code} is supported by Welcome.TU.code.

Stefan is the initiator of refugees{code}. He knows everything and he’s got a tight grip at refugees{code} and all its participants. Even though coming from the private sector, the education sector is where he fits in just perfectly. Additionally to his intricate understanding of economics, meanwhile, he’s also starting to code himself.

Daniela’s career so far has been just as varyied and diverse as she is herself. From managing and rearranging shelfs to installing ATM-machines, from working a newsroom to becoming a department head of a college, Daniela’s bringing a lot of experience to the table. Now she’s a valuable member of our team with her goal-oriented and analytical point of view.

Florian joined us in September. As the connecting link between the welcomeTUcode team and our participants he knows the score. He never misses so much as one coding unit and he could tell our participant’s schedules if you’d wake him in the middle of the night. We say thank you and let’s go!

Sabi is the refugees{code}’s result enforcer, who is always ready to provide help, whenever needed. Born digital native, who constantly thinks out of the box, Sabi is a valuable asset to our marketing team.  We enjoy her out-going personality, her optimistic attitude and awesome ideas. Having studied at five universities in four countries, Alex has well explored the higher education world. Apart from setting up an innovative and scalable coding curriculum, he has created the Lingophant Mobile App, a tool for language learners. With his empathetic and calm demeanor he’s not just convincing our partners.

Stefan also joined us by the end of September and is the youngest member of our team. He is responsible for the setup and maintenance of our website. With his calm and polite personality it is impossible to imagine us without him.

Having gained profound marketing experience across five countries, Milena`s unique international perspective fits perfectly in our team. Apart from her active support in Project Management and Social Media Marketing, Milena is also managing our Crowdfunding campaign. She is the one spending all day on Facebook in order to get better insight into customer data.

During our Intake #1, the native Syrian Adnan took his first steps as a programmer. What is more, he ambitiously contributed his knowledge and became our software development master. As a participant in every coding session, no one knows the needs of our participants better than he does. We say thank you and let`s go!

As a Leadership & Business Development Consultant, Nadina is working not only with international and intercultural leaders and teams, but she also shares her vast expertise she with us and our participants. Together with the participants, they focus on recognizing talents, exploring potentials and possibilities, elaborating effective strategies, implementing acquired competencies and awakening joy of the effective (self-) leadership.
